Textiles | Co-creating

The intention of creation
.
We’ve lost sight of many precious things in this fast-paced world.
Through plant dyeing with regional materials and hosting home retreats, I invite us to slow down and reconnect with nature, and gently turn inward - to notice what has been neglected.
I’m Ting, a photographer turned dyer. I uprooted myself from Singapore to a mountain village in Yunnan, China, in search of a different way of living.
By embracing mindful steps, we begin to experience moments free from the fear of scarcity - and start to notice the quiet abundance all around us, like the rich, natural colors unconditionally gifted by plants.

Work | Co-creating
.
If you’re someone who embraces the rhythm and unpredictability of nature -
someone who cares not only about ideas and outcomes, but also about the people behind the craft -
say hi. :)
After all, it’s all about connection.
Crossing paths is a form of shared energy - fluid and alive - like the meeting of rivers.
It matters that you are in your element.
And it matters for me too.
In my textile practice, I use plant dyeing to let each piece unfold slowly, guided by process and by the natural character of each material.
All creation traces back to a single source: intention.
And within pure intention lies quiet wisdom.
When souls with pure intention meet, there’s a spark -
a sense of recognition.
Working with you becomes a form of co-creation, a way for our souls to speak and connect.
I’d love to hear from you -
for collaborations, commissions, or simply to share ideas, to play.
Thank you so much for being here.

How working with plants changed my life
I no longer see nature as merely a resource for human needs.
She sets the rules, and within those rules lies the wisdom of life and death.
She teaches me what unconditional love can look like:
to allow what is meant to unfold, even when it feels sad or difficult to us humans.
I’ve come to respect her time and pace, her truth of not forcing, yet never waiting. What needs to happen, happens.
This understanding has profoundly shifted the way I see the human world, and how I speak to myself.
It has urged me to re-evaluate the conventional values we’re taught, and instead, root myself in a more honest understanding of life.
And I hope to share this experience with you too. Through a form of togetherness.
Sending love and light
from a bright place.
Ting
